In-text citations are used to give credit to sources directly in the body of your paper. This supports academic integrity and shows readers where your ideas are coming from.

Basic Format:

  • Paraphrasing: (Author Last Name, Year)

    • Example: (McAfee, 2024)

  • Direct Quotes: (Author Last Name, Year, p. #)

    • Example: (McAfee, 2024, p. 15)

Tips:

  • Always cite the source whenever you summarize, paraphrase, or quote.

  • Use "et al." for works with 3+ authors: (Johnson et al., 2022)

  • If no author, use the title and year: ("Cyber Trends Report," 2023)
